Electronic & Metal Recycling

The Town provides a Central Disposal Facility located at the Town of Clay Highway Garage, 4483 Route 31, Clay, NY.  This facility is open every second Saturday of each month, from May through and including November, between the hours of 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. The Town of Clay residents may drop off heavy appliances (excluding those containing freon) metal and electronic items. Example of appliances include; washer, dryer, dishwasher, stove, furnace, gas grill minus the propane tank, etc.  We will accept metal items to include; iron, fan, bicycle, fencing, car part, lawnmower empty of fuel, etc.

Items that are not acceptable include:

  • Air Conditioners
  • Humidifiers
  • Refrigerators
  • Any item that contains freon
  • Lumber
  • Tires
  • Furniture
  • Plastic
  • Glass

If unsure if something can be dropped off, please call the Highway Department at (315) 652-3800 ext. 124.
